Austin Montego Estate 2.0 TD Clubman 5d (89) (1994/M) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Paid £900.
Costs
Very cheap to run. Major cost I had was the water pump, which had gone when I bought it.
-
On the road
Driving
Heavy round town. Keep tyres pumped up - rims tend to leak after a few months.
Performance
I give it 4 for fuel economy, not speed. It's ok once you wind the turbo up.
-
Living with it
Reliability
A real workhorse.
Image
If you want to look poor.
Comfort
A bit sit up and beg, but no back ache.
-
Security and Service
Security
I've locked my keys in it once, no problems getting in!
Service
I needed a sump for it. Rover quoted me £300+ for one, I got one from the scrappy for £15.
