Summary
What does this car say about you?
Young, Successful, Fun.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
All love the car, some perhaps a bit jealous.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, it is extremely efficient, easy to drive, and great fun when you quicken the pace. The car doesn't cost much to maintain, it's first service at 19,000 cost £120. Tyres cost £130-140 each. The rear lasted 24,000 and the front are still on and are at 28,000. Those are Bridgestone Potenza's, highly recommended! The care is leased, and that is £330 per month through BMW.
What are you likely to buy next?
I have ordered a 2008 BMW M5, mainly because I do not drive long-distance anymore, and I have always wanted one and now I can.

Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?

Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, because the 1 Series is a common car, and is easier to get to negotiate a discount.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I was looking for an economical replacement for my previous car for long distance driving.
What was the dealer like?
The dealer was excellent, kept me updated - as slight mishap before deliver with some paperwork, but was rectified quickly.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
My car being a Sport, it is quite firm on anything but smooth roads - but that is also due in part to the run-flat tyres and part due to the stiffer suspension. The car has superb handling, and is extremely hard to unsettle - and even then, the Traction Control enages before any harm is done. The engine is fantastic, I do ~160 per day, of fast paced driving, on a mixture of roads and return 48-54mpg.
What's it like to park?
The car is easy to park, even with a restricted view out the rear window. The side-mirrors are perfectly matched to this car.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
When I got the car, some week after it would not unlock with the key. I was not overly worried, I got a replacement whilst the problem was rectified and no further problems to report.
What's most practical about your car?
It is practical for two people, and luggage. Two smaller adults can sit comfortable in the back. The boot is of reasonable size, I have had the pram and a full load of shopping in it. I cannot complain.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Automatic Air-Conditioning, it is extremely good! The sound system is also excellent for those that like to drive with it loud.
