BMW 1-Series Hatchback (2011 - 2019) 118i SE 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
My wife has been after this car for the past 7 years and she really loves the shape, the amount of room in the boot for a "small" car and the layout. A couple of niggles:
Sat Nav - Take a bit of getting use to as previous Sat Nav's we have used the "car" always points up and the map rotates around it. On the BMW the Car moves around the map so slightly difficult to quickly look to see if to need a left or right turn as first you need to figure out which way the car is pointing.
Motorway driving - Above 60mph I would go as far to say the car steering feels unsafe, but below that perfectly fine. I would consider this if you plan on doing a large amount of motorway driving.
Is she happy she got it YES would she buy another one more than likely not due to the motorway driving.
How reliable do you find the car?
We didn't test drive the car on the motorway so when we come to drive it on there we noticed the steering post 60 mph was very heavy when turning as if stuck in tram lanes and then suddenly go lose. We took it back to the dealer thinking there was an issue but been told they all drive like this. Therefore not a fault.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Other than the motorway handling the car is excellent.About their car
