What does this car say about you?

I really couldn't care less. I bought the car for what it could do, not for any image it might project.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Well my Dad approves, which should worry me deeply...

Would you buy this car again and why?

So far, yes, but the question would be better asked after a few years of ownership.

What are you likely to buy next?

That depends on life circumstances. Can't see myself going back to sub-50mpg or a manual again anytime soon.

Did you get a good deal and why?

A reasonable deal. They more or less matched the broker discount after a little haggling.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

No other medium hatch offered the same combination of driving dynamics, economy and performance.

What was the dealer like?

Friendly and reasonably efficient. It took them an age to get a suitable model to test drive, but that's somewhat forgivable given the newness of this model.

What's it like to drive?

Quiet, smooth riding and relaxing yet very responsive in sport mode. The cabin is a nice place to be, especially if specced with leather and a few other goodies.

What's it like to park?

No issues. Rear visibility isn't fantastic but then it isn't a big car. Rather penny-pinching of BMW that rear parking sensors are an option at every trim level.

Have you had any problems with the car?

No

What's most practical about your car?

The boot is a more reasonable size than the old model but rear legroom is still no more than adequate.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Definitely the fantastic 8-speed auto. Unique in a car this size and just combines so well with the torquey diesel engine; this is one relaxed motorway car.
