BMW 1-Series Hatchback (2011 - 2019) M135i M Performance (Professional Media) 5d Step Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
This is a great car out of the box but can be made even better with a bit of extra outlay and yes it can be made into a proper M car. With the addition of LSD, suspension, wheels and exhaust the car is raised to a different level. If you want bring it up to 400 bhp thats easy and cheap too but its not really necessary unless you want to track race it. Choose a good spec to start with, I have and recommend Professional Sat Nav, Harman Kardon sound, leather, auto, bendy auto lights etc. I also got the performance upgrade interior (carbon fibre and alicante trim). If you have access to good driving roads and reasonably deep pockets its a very nice driving and owning experience. I chose it over Golf R, Mercedes AMG A45, GT86 all of which I tried but preferred the BMW. Focus RS not available at the time but I think that would have to be a consideration now. My choice for the BMW was not just for the speed but for the feel and sound and how easy and intuitive all the controls are. Only reason for marking down the reliability is that during a routine service BMW noticed a slight whistle from the gearbox so they replaced it for the newest and upgraded version which has even faster and smoother changes. The car came with a 5 year service and warranty pack so it has cost me only for the fuel and mods that I have chosen to add. I recommend this car to discerning and competent drivers who have access to roads that can justify it.
