Summary
What does this car say about you?
BMW image is well documented, but I'd like to think it's respected for being different to a Golf GTI, and there's no hiding the fact that with the Sport kit the compact is a beautiful machine.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Everyone thinks it is a class above (the usual car of its price / size) and looks more expensive than the £10k i paid for it
Would you buy this car again and why?
If my finances were the same next time it comes to buy a car, I would not hesitate to buy one of these again as there isn't anything as classy and as fast for the money.

Yes (assuming the new car doesn't break soon) - offered me a good deal on the car i was part exchanging

Combination of performance and quality in a low mileage and affordable package

Friendly and helpful, but who isn't when they are making a sale?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Grips and grips round corners, and hammers the straights! Not looking forward to losing the back end but the power is great fun. The 6 cylinder engine is amazingly smooth at all revs (sounding V nice higher up) and when driving sensibly all is very civilised and quiet. 6th gear means motorway cruising comes at quite low revs. Averaging 32 mpg according to on board computer on a mix of motorway and town driving.
What's it like to park?
Easy thanks to its size, especially with the rear parking sensors

Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing yet, only had car a short time
What's most practical about your car?
A hatchback with 3 doors is not too practical, but that's not what I bought it for. Remote boot release is good!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise control and leather are great, but the engine is the best thing about the car
