BMW 3-Series Convertible 325i 2d Auto (1994/L) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Worth paying for the image and driving thrill, but little else.
Costs
Very pricey. If anything electric goes it's going to mean a trip to the unhelful dealers and they'll milk you for every penny!

On the road
Driving
Ok as long as you avoid bumps.
Performance
Fast as expected auto is useful as you can use both hands to concentrate on the steering especially when you've got you're foot down.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Beware on models around this age if the ECU (electronic control unit)-the brain of the car, goes you're looking at £1300 plus to get it repaired and really only the dealers can fix it. Disappointing reliability for a german built car.
Image
Beautiful looking car with the roof up or down. Few cars look better especially if you have the M3 kit. You're a source of envy of others in the summer.
Comfort
Despite the sports seats, poor suspension, watch out for the bumps could be a rocky ride.

Security and Service
Security
BMW central locking alarm which also closes all the windows when they are down.
Service
V. poor. Had to take car back 4 times to dealers to fix ECU even then had to return as they'd put in a faulty one...very unhelpful people.
