The Coupe gets a wide range of petrol engines, but no diesel. The smaller 316i and 318i (which confusingly both became 1.6 units in 1996) are fine for the driver who prefers posing to performing. 320i kicks off the range of engines buyers prefer, with 323i, 325i and 328i units available. 320i is the best all-rounder.
Great chassis really invites you to drive it hard although on models without traction control you’ll need to watch it in the wet as these things can get tail happy especially the more powerful ones. All models are rear-wheel-drive.
