Summary
What does this car say about you?
This car is rare enough to make me feel much more individual than the hundreds of ford drivers on my road. Being a BMW it gives a great statement about who you are, though it sounds more impressive than it actually is.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
The car is practical enough to do the daily duties of a car, but stylish enough that most would like to be seen getting out if it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
If I were to buy this car again it would be a different engine model. The 1.9 has enough grunt to get around but I would prefer something with a little more power to match the image the car gives. I would prefer the 325i or 328i.
What are you likely to buy next?
Being very enthusiastic about cars my next choice will be a step up, mainly in engine power. I idealy will be looking for a decent Impreza, for its practicality as well as performance.

No

£850
When did you buy the car?
November 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
BMW's are known for their reliability and build quality. With taking this in to account as well as the understated looks made this a perfect choice for a stylish run-around.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
With the 1.9 litre 4 cylinder engine giving out 140bhp the car is very nippy and you will have no problems with it either around town or on motorway journeys. It certainly wont tear your face off but its more than enough to accelerate you onto a busy roundabout of down a slip road which I believe is very important.
What's it like to park?
It is very easy to park, with fairly decent visibility out of the cabin from all angles. The electric wing mirrors help also with high curbs and parallel parking.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The only problems that I have had with this car are electrical. Specifically the battery, the only part under the bonnet that isn't an original BMW component. With a high end battery replacement purchased I have had no other problems mechanically at all.
What's most practical about your car?
The car is perfectly equipped to deal with any everyday activity. A big enough boot for the weekly shop (with rear folding seats for the occasional extravagant item) and enough room in the back for 2 adults.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The amount of gadgets outnumbers most brand new hatchbacks available today. With electric mirrors, windows, sunroof, remote locking and an automatically tinting rear view mirror. Most of these gadgets are available on new cars but you will get charged for most of them.
