Summary
What does this car say about you?
Young snob with more money than sense. (I could have a super-mini with a 10th of the running costs like most of my fiends do.)
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it, although a bit low for my elderly parents to get in and out of.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. BMWs are German engineering at its absolute best. Just can't find a sexier, better driving make of car (except a Porsche, which I can't yet afford)
What are you likely to buy next?
E36 M3 or a E46 3 Series Coupe. Maybe a Z4.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
May 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Paid a little more than book price but haggled due to a few stamps missing in service book.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Have always owned E36 3 series BMWs, wanted a low mileage minter. Found this one will a load of extras like leather, airbags, sunroof, OBC, arm rest, colour coding and only 70,000 miles on the clock!
What was the dealer like?
I don't use the "Stealers". A good independant specialist is always the way to go for cheaper labour and a better service.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Quick, sporty, grips very well and sits flat through corners. Very comfortable for longer journeys. Auto box is a god-send around town and in traffic. Can't get enough of that 6 cylinder rasp.
What's it like to park?
A doddle, even more-so if you are lucky enough to have rear parking sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Back box went, got a second hand one only a year old off an online auction site for £50 (dealer wanted £400!!!). Replaced water pump and thermostat (prone to failure) as soon as I bought the car, as a matter of course. Nothing else.
What's most practical about your car?
Nothing really, but then I didn't buy it for its practicality. Having said that, I did move house and managed to stuff all of my belongings into it! Back seats fold down for extra room in the boot.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
On board computer which tells you what range you have left in fuel, ave. consumption, temp., speed limiter, timer, check control. Kick down and sports mode are other favourites, naturally.
