Summary
What does this car say about you?
Unfortunately it suggests that I'm a typical BMW driver (owns the road, etc), but in reality I'm a very safe and considerate driver. Completely atypical, then.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They think it looks fab.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, if it wasn't too old. I hear the previous models (~05 and earlier) had potential swirl flap problems that could write the car off. This is why I bought an 06.
What are you likely to buy next?
It's gotta be a Beemer. They're so much fun!

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£18,350
When did you buy the car?
May 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
As luck would have it, there was an identical model with an independant dealer right about the same time - but £1000 cheaper. I was able to haggle them down on that basis.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted another BM after a superb 16 year-old 318iS, but wanted a diesel this time, as I do a lot of motorway miles.
What was the dealer like?
Very professional (as you'd like to expect).

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It puts a grin on my face every time I floor the throttle (which doesn't happen often nowadays, what with trying to watch fuel consumption, etc). It's SO much fun to use all the 150 horses. It grips the road like a limpet. It's much quieter than my previous cars.
What's it like to park?
Lemon squeezy.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No.
What's most practical about your car?
Air-con. I've never had it in a car before (honest!). It's got a big boot for a coupé. A bluetooth CD/Radio that talks to my phone. Luxury!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Air-Con. Bluetooth CD/Radio.
