  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

A have a black one, so I probaly look like a drug dealer or a Championship footballer.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    It's a 330 BMW, so they probably think I'm a cock.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Maybe - but not in M-sport guise.

What are you likely to buy next?

Something cheaper. I bought this car when it was a few thousand miles away from some major costs: tyres, brakes, inspection 2 etc. That's over a grands worth that I won't get back when I flog. it! Oh and buy-the-way people who say BM's keep there value are deluded. Yes the deprication may be a bit slower, but remember you're starting from a much higher price. My £11K car cost some clown well over £30K 4 years ago. That's 5 grand a year down the drain!! So they don't depreciate eh??

Probably not....these cars don't come cheap, even with high miles

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

i had a 318Ci before. My partner now owns it.

    N/A

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

The 3ltr unit has more shunt than you will ever need. It's quick! 300lb/ft of torque means it will out-pace most things on the move. Real-world MPG is 38. One word of warning, if your coming from a petrol car, beware of stalling it. At low speeds you have to be in the right gear....otherwise you will be diving for the ignition key every 10 mins. Tramlining - I reckon the fat tyres do cause a problem. At low speeds on uneven roads you can feel it pulling and pushing. I had a 318Ci before with 17" 225 wheels and that had no problems. Fat,low profile tyres may look nice on big wheels, but they do mess-up the ride and feel. That's price you have to pay! I have to say that overall the 318Ci is nicer car to live with.

    What's it like to park?

Okay . The rear sensors seem to have lost the will to live. The just can't be arsed!

  • Living with it

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No - However it needs new brakes all-round (dics & pads) cost £500!! That hurts - alot! 18" 255 tyres will set you back £170 - £200 a corner. They don't last long on the back with all that torque being pushed through. Front suspension bushes will go too - £200 - a common fault on all 3 series.

What's most practical about your car?

The rear seats do fold down, so it's surprisingly good. The don't drop on the saloon model though, that's an extra (£500 no doubt).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Bluetooth. However I don't rate any kind of phone-call on the move.
