BMW 3-Series M3 Coupe Evolution Sequential 2d (1998/R) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Not cheap, but then you get what you pay for.
Costs
Expensive to insure and run. Also expensive to service using main dealer. Use independant specialist after warranty expires.

On the road
Driving
Fantastic to drive. Just watch that rear end in the wet and ice. SMG takes a while to master, but is great fun.
Performance
Not quite TVR territory, but nothing on the road is going to make a fool out of you. Sit back, foot down, enjoy.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Apart from a dead battery replaced under warranty, no problems at all.
Image
Need I say anything - it's a BMW with an M badge on the back. Take in the admiring glances.
Comfort
Ride can be a bit hard on our 'well maintained' UK roads. Sport seats are really comfortable.

Security and Service
Security
Needed a tracker for insurance purposes. Hard to rate really. Alarm and immobiliser as standard.
Service
Vanos and battery replaced under warranty, without quibble. Helpfull staff.
