Economy
Value
Buy at three years old, from a BMW dealer and it should be as good as new, and the worst of depreciation will have passed.
Costs
It shall wear out your Nectar card quickly.

On the road
Driving
Well the M3 saves you paying any Gym membership, as you feel like you've has a workout after driving it around town.
Performance
Very quick car.

Living with it
Reliability
Had the car two months, already faulty DSC sesnor, leaking rear window, and sticky stiff drivers door handle. Not what you expect from a £26k car
Image
Turns heads, although always checking for extra white stripes after parking it in town
Comfort
Ride is a little hard, but the payoff is fantastic handling.

Security and Service
Security
BMW standard + Tracker. I've read that an E46 M3, although been broken into, has never been driven away.
Service
On a car like this don't even consider buying/servicing from anything but BMW franchised dealers. They are not that much more expensive, and you get 100% peace of mind
