BMW 3-Series Saloon 316i 4d (1991/H) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Bargain - low milage runner. Electric mirrors, aerial, Power stearing
Costs
Ok for fuel probably 30mpg, servicing costs marginally higher for this older car as parts wear out
-
On the road
Driving
Good in straight line, nervous on corners at speed. Parking a breeze - not a massive car with weird body styling or small windows
Performance
Ok not schumacher quick but no slouch either
-
Living with it
Reliability
Never failed to start, even in winter freeze.
Image
A classic saloon shape - a rarity in the jungle of hatchbacks and MPVs. BMW badge confers a well built solid car even after 13 years.
Comfort
Not good - but this is a pure drivers machine!
-
Security and Service
Security
Not up with modern cars, obviously. I use a autolock always and dont keep valuables in it- common sense means no problems so far
Service
Not used BMW - only big multiple servicing garages
-
Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Solid running - but can flood the engine if not careful on starting.
Other
The accelerator is really sensitive! - see comment in ""engine"".
