BMW 3-Series Saloon 320i 2d (1986/D) Owner Review

Economy
Value
I picked up this baby for £150, with FBMWSH! Despite its 143K miles, its still strong. I bought it has a hack, but I've got rather attached to the thing.
Costs
Can be thirsty if pushed, prefers motorways as opposed to town driving.

On the road
Driving
Fantastic cruising car, confident and smooth. Handling 'interesting' in the wet, but otherwise well mannered.
Performance
Not bad considering its age, still has that BMW rasp when accelerating.
-
Living with it
Reliability
So far, so good. Starts on the button everytime.
Image
It's a BMW! A clean unmolested example still has respect. The car is totally standard, so I don't really get much hassle from the boy racers.
Comfort
Reasonable, erogonomically brilliant dashboard, front seats not particularly comfy for those over 6'2"" though.

Security and Service
Security
Not too hot, but decent for a car of its age. Stick an immobiliser on it .
Service
No point in taking it to a BMW dealer, seek independent specialists.
