Economy
Value
Paid a lot for it 2 years ago, but excellent value if I run it until it's dead.
Costs
Very good. Euro Car Parts for spares. Servicing using a non-francised local garage. Don't even need a specialist garage for servicing.

On the road
Driving
Horrible in the wet. Rear kicks out badly on roundabouts. Had a couple of bad experiences, even with good tyres.
Performance
Sounds good. Goes good, too. Not breathtaking though, but then it is a heavy car with a 1600cc.

Living with it
Reliability
Very reliable. Usual things like bulbs replaced. Brakes replaced. Nothing unusual.
Image
Was even better 2 years ago. Still commands much respect.
Comfort
Comfortable for driver. Not the best for rear seat passengers.

Security and Service
Security
Excellent BMW alarm. No security problems. No thefts, but this isn't the most desirable model though is it!
Service
Dealers look down because the car is older. Dealers very expensive. They may however spot major problems early on, but remember they will charge a premium. Non-specialist dealers are happy to service.
