Very attractive care at 85,000 miles. Drives like new. Very good quality.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Obviously pricier than average L-reg cars on purchase and parts but you do get what you pay for. Good fuel economy.

    Driving

Still drives like new after 85,000 miles. Gearbox still very smooth although interior is a bit creaky at times.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

    Not bad for a 1.8.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very reliable - has not let me down in 18 months.

Very attractive car: colour-coded with a spoiler, front fogs and alloys. A lot of people think it is better and sportier than it actually is. Turns quite a few heads for an older car.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Can be a bit bumpy with some road noise. Seats a bit small; I'd rather drive it than be a passenger.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

Had our Vauxhall Astra broken into on the drive, but they didn"t touch the BMW.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

No comment - was not bought from a main dealer.
