  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Hold value very well, but may fall as the new '05 E90 saloon is being launched in a few weeks.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Problems are very rare, but some can be expensive to repair.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Slick driving position, precise control, solid build quality.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

Go for a bigger engine, bit slow when being challenged at the traffic lights but acceleration is not that bad despite its weight.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Had it for 14 months now, so far only had to replace 2x18 inch tyres.

Obviously, it's a BMW and its black. It's a 4 door but i've lowered it, put on 18inch M-tech wheels, tinted the windows and rear screen, paintwork is really shiny when polished, looks new. Go for black, it looks slick.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Never get tired driving it, been on long journeys but very comfortable, rear room is better than my old E36. this one has leathers so it feels like I'm in my living room.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

Never ever been broken into, has deadlocks, alarm and immobiliser activated by remote control, also has as standard aan very bright LED just under the rear view mirror flashing away which probably deters thieves.

    Service

    5 out of 5 5.0

BMW head office are very good and helpful who can be found on 01344 426565. Local dealers are expensive so I'd rather use a local garage who specialise in BMW's, not local dealerships.
