    Running costs not much, servicing at the dealership is expensive though. The diesel consumption is unmatched. Insurance is only group 12 in Britian.

    The 2001 320d is better than 1999 320 d. The turbo feels to kick in at about 2000-2500 rpm. In the 150 bhp model it is earlier. The pull power at lower speeds is noticeable. The 99 model is also cruder, the diesel engine is a bit more rough.

    Go for 163 or 150bhp model. The 136 is a good cheap option though. Though rare, bargains are lying around. Don't be scared of high mileage fleet cars with service history. Lastly beware of clocked cars almost bought one from an auto trader advertiser!
