What does this car say about you?

That I appreciate good engineering and style.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They've told me its a head turner and premium look executive sports saloon.

Would you buy this car again and why?

If they still made it yes, but I'm no so sure about the equivalent replacement model. May even hand this on to my wife once I've done 100,000 miles in it, so about 2 years.

What are you likely to buy next?

Either new 3 series GT but if too long (as the wheelbase is longer) may opt to downsize to the new VW Golf GTD.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes it was a good deal. It was the last of the E45 3 series and a special edition so came fully loaded.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Saw it in the showroom in just the right spec and colour.

What was the dealer like?

Okay but didn't like to be on the receiving end of constructive feedback following contact by BMW customer services.

What's it like to drive?

Perfect blend of performance v economy trade off. The steering is sharp, precise and rear wheel drive is excellent for most of the time (except the few days of snow we get). It grips well in the wet and ride is complaint but firm enough to take the bends with no body roll. Best car ever.

What's it like to park?

Excellent, good visibilty and parking sensors at the rear. Saloon body style helps too.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Excellent. Just one light bulb and stereo button in 40,000 miles.

What's most practical about your car?

The excellently placed cup holders which have been moved in the new model and not as good.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Favorite option is the folding rear seat and rear privacy glass, keeps it cool inside.
