Summary
What does this car say about you?
I bought this car because for me and my family as it offers a sports car experience in a practical family car package and for no other reason such as image.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
My wife absolutely adores it as it is just so easy to drive. Some like it , some think the styling is a bit tame and of course you can never get away from the people that hate BMW's and the people who drive them.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably not for the reason below
What are you likely to buy next?
BMW have once again upped the aunty and have just released the next model in the range a twin turbo 280hp diesel. That will for sure be on my shopping list xmas 2008

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Stunning, huge amounts of power, smooth quiet 6 cylinder diesel engine mated to a silky smooth 6 speed auto gearbox with manual overide feature should the mood take you. Corners like its on rails and it fairly quiet. As this is the sports model the ride is firm but not harsh and there is a bit of tyre noise on some road surfaces but it is never overbearing. The steering reactions are precise an
What's it like to park?
Comes as standard with rear parking sensors with audible and visual warning and the rear wheel drive set up as usual allows for more front wheel movement resulting in a very good turning circle. The steering is fairly light at parking speeds. The bonnet is long but its extremes are very easy to judge. The door mirrors automatically dip while reversing to enable you to see the kerb better which

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing in 10,000 miles
What's most practical about your car?
The through load option yes it is an option on BMW's , is a godsend and makes the saloon very easy to live with. At least they give you a nylon bag to put some ski's in for you £300 upgrade.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Starter button is a cool idea but a bit pointless as you still have to insert the key fob into the dash unless you opt for the comfort access option. The sports seats have inflatable side bolsters which enable you to get the perfect balance of grip and comfort whatever your size.
