BMW 3-Series Saloon 330i M Sport Automatic 4d Owner Review

In their own words
Mine was a 340i touring but the category wasn't offered when doing this review. It's a tricky one of love and hate. Fantastic engine but fussy handling and very hard to drive at 110% and as a driver I struggled with this. When driving hard it shows its non M-Car weaknesses and the fuel costs spoilt the enjoyment for me. BMW are very clever at not giving you everything unless you buy the M badge and as a result I didn't fall in love with this car. If I had I could have put up with the running costs but didn't feel it gave enough back. I live in Bucks with bumpy B roads and the car just felt to heavy and out of its depth when pressing on. I'm aware I'm sounding like I just drive flat out everywhere but I do enjoy using the full potential of a car and I never could with the 340. If you live in rural Scotland Germany or many other European countries this car then shines. It needs fast flat tarmac and only with trips to Germany I understood this car when you really stretch its legs. A bit leftfield but have since switched to a Golf GTD estate and the driver involvement and shear a ability to use everything the car has to offer and its handling and lower curb weight, puts me in a strange position of preferring the GTD. I know controversial but for less money I'm having more fun in a diesel - something I never thought I would admit to. I'll always remember the 340 but not one I'll particularly miss.
