BMW 3-Series Touring 318i 5d (1990/H) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Best banger I ever bought, at under a grand with 150k miles on the clock. Rear seat splits, so very versatile.
Costs
Not as frugal as I hoped, but that's probably my driving.
-
On the road
Driving
Soft suspension, comfy but doesn't feel very well attached to the road.
Performance
Good enough for a 1.8, but not a boyracer car.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Only 10k miles done, so early days. Half the dashboard lights intermittent.
Image
What's an 'image'?
Comfort
Seats, position, equipment etc good, ride a bit spongy.
-
Security and Service
Security
Complicated key system and immobiliser, which I guess is good for the year.
Service
It tells you when it wants one.
-
Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Smooth through revs. Sometimes stalls when idling cold.
Other
Electric sunroof sticky, but most old ones are. At least it doesn't leak.
