Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I did not test drive it before ordering it. Either it makes me look busy or lazy.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
No-one has noticed it. My wife described it the other night to friends as a "dull, ordinary company car for people with no imagination.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, no, no. Grotty engine, boring interior which has aged badly even in the three months and 10.000 miles I have had it and suspect image rule it out for me.
What are you likely to buy next?
I had both the current C Class estate and Audi A4 S Line estate prior to this. Both are far better, the Mercedes does it best for me, even the 200CDI estate "mule spec" version.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
July 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
Well, the monthly lease was a lot cheaper than the Mercedes C Class estate I originally ordered.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I had ordered something else, the lease company suggested that it was better value as they had "an offer on".
What was the dealer like?
Rubbish. "It's parked over there - somewhere".

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Serious turbo lag from standstill made worse by a lazy gearbox. Roadholding VERY suspect in the wet with low resistance (NON RUNFLAT - not fitted anymore) narrow (205/65) tyres.
What's it like to park?
Poor rear vision eased by parking sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
I took it to the local dealer when on holiday in Cornwall because I honestly thought from the noise that the engine was destroying itself. Apparently they all sound like that.
What's most practical about your car?
Not much. It is cramped in the front, cramped in the back and the dog, frankly, just stands in the boot with her tail between her legs looking morose.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The adaptive Xenons are brilliant.
