BMW 5-Series GT (2009 - 2017) 530d (258bhp) SE GT (Professional Media) 5d Step Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I’ve wanted a GT for a long time so have done plenty of research, and been waiting for the right one to come along.
After owning the F10, which was written off, I moved to another brand - so glad came back.
It’s not as a good driving car as the F10 but only slightly, due to weight and height you get a little roll - however adaptive suspension is very very good - and just have chassis if you don’t want the drivetrain. As it does with driving mode, the change is steering is very good.
So much space it’s insane, boot is great with straps, hooks, hidden spaces - and with comfort access kick to open is very handy - as is opening and closing from the key fob. I don’t think the split boot is really needed, but it’s cool and I love it.
Auto park is a fun feature, but the 360 cameras make the size of car very easy to park anyway.
It’s built very well, quality everywhere. The engine isn’t too loud for a diesel, and has a nice roar under hard acceleration.
BMWs are expensive to repair and replace items - people tell me this all the time - but there is reason. They are better quality items.
If you need practicality, want to be able to shuttle people round and do all the family bits in comfort+, but be able to also do sports in and get to 60 in a touch over 6 seconds - and you need a 2 tonne hatchback - then there is no other car close to this.
Just get one with a camera at least.
