Summary
What does this car say about you?
Status was never a motivation for buying this car but on reflection most owners myself included probably like the individuality/rarity of this car. I always have a little smile when I see another one on my travels because I know (as the reviews confirm) only GT drivers are in on the secret!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I have only ever had positive feedback, particularly from those who have been on the inside and not just looked at the outside.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Absolutely! I have a 535d GT Sport on order for Feb 2014 and this was done after having been offered the deal of a lifetime on a 640d Gran Coupe! Day to day I felt that the 5GT still ticked all the boxes and Gran Coupe only one...It looks pretty!
What are you likely to buy next?
BMW 535d Gran Turismo Sport.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
January 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
Car were bought via a lease, mine was one of 4 bought by company and dealer gave us the red carpet, as they have since.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted something different to the crowd with practicality and reasonable running costs.
What was the dealer like?
Cannot fault the dealer, they have provided a five star after care and we have used them again for our next cars (on order). Rybrook Warwick have always gone the extra mile.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
In a word...Brilliant! As with most of the people who actually own one report on this website and others, this car is fabulous! It delivers performance, practicality, economy and comfort.
What's it like to park?
It would be fair to say that you would struggle to get used to the size of this car if your last car was a BMW 1 Series, but as most people who buy in this sector usually come from other executive saloons (as I do) I have never had an issue with parking and find the front/rear sensors more than adequate.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Err!.. Yes I have had minor electrical issues plus a faulty suspension which would put some buyers off. All dealt with under warranty never a quibble from BMW or dealer.
What's most practical about your car?
Comfort! I average 30-40K miles per year and this car makes you feel like you have just popped round the corner!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Professional Sat Nav is really useful for business helps to avoid traffic and very easily finds a practical alternative once you divert.
