BMW 5-Series M5 (2011 - 2016) M5 4d DCT Owner Review

In their own words
Fantastic drivers car that flies under the radar, not as gaudy as an AMG, but not as confidence inspiring as a fast Audi. It can be a real Jackal and Hyde, smooth, quiet comfortable cruiser, or tyre shredding performance car. You do need to keep your wits about you with all that torque and RWD. Running costs aren’t too bad, 27mpg on a gentle run, but low teens, or worse if you’re pressing on. Biggest issue is what to replace it with, I’m forever spoiled by the M5!
How reliable do you find the car?
Turbo coolant lines replaced twice, a known issue originally addressed FOC. Complete failure of the iDrive system just out of warranty but covered by BMW as good will - thankfully otherwise a £3k bill! AC condenser at 35k miles.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Awesome drivers car, DCT gearbox exceeded expectations but can be a bit lurchy from a standstill if you’re not careful. Doesn’t draw too much attention, particularly on 19” wheels. The engine is fantastic, lots of torque but also pulls hard to the red line as you’d expect from an M car. The engine noise is a bit muted though.About their car
