BMW 5-Series M5 (2018 - 2024) M5 M Steptronic auto 4d Owner Review

In their own words
As a car I have admired a long time, and been a BMW customer previously, this car is by far the best I have owned/driven. One of those dream cars.
It does it all, comfort, high equipment levels, the flexibility of being a saloon to carry 4/5 people, yet has ability to turn pace if needed. This car eats up the miles easily and comfortably, I average 24 mpg overall, yet on longer motorway trip can get 30+ or if and when conditions allow that can drop if you drive more sportily by accelerating hard to speed limit; the ride is fantastic for something considered an executive sports car. The seats and comfort are superb and luggage space great as I golf so can get clubs, bags and clubs inside. Every electric gadget you need to make driving easier, lots of hands free tools from voice and gesture commands, to heads up display. This does everything and it would only be the price as a reason why more people don’t own one. The running costs are not as high as someone may expect, with petrol costs at £70 per tank, about 340 miles on each. Annual servicing is about £400-500 and insurance for lower mileage use very reasonable working out to about 28p per mile. So ok, you have to accept the depreciation costs are pretty high, especially first year, but then I offset by buying nearly new and getting a great deal off new list price.
Given some recent winter conditions the car has been great given I have a set of winter wheel and tyres which combined with xDrive (BMWs 4x4 system) provide superb grip. The ability to have switchable 2 or 4 wheel drive gives best of both worlds. Go test drive one and make your own mind up.
