BMW 5-Series Saloon 525i SE 4d Auto (1989/F) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
£26,000 new, 10 years later: £2000, what more can I say?
Costs
Expensive main dealer parts and service. A bargain if you do the work yourself, at least then you know its done properly (if I do it!)

On the road
Driving
Good to drive, smooth with excellent road holding, quiet and quick.
Performance
Bit slow off the mark due to its weight but great on the motorway. Will do 140mph in total silence.

Living with it
Reliability
Generally good, but eletrical problems are difficult to diagnose.
Image
Any E34 5-series is still quite impressive. It has a real presence about it that most cars can't match.
Comfort
Seats would not look out of place in DFS, but they must be leather.

Security and Service
Security
Well, I still have it.
Service
Very good but expensive. I service the car myself now.
