    £28 grand's worth of car for £2k - excellent.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Parts, servicing, fuel cons, tyres, etc not cheap, but could be worse. In my opinion, worth the money to drive this kind of car.

Superb drive - beats any other car for the money. Comfortable, smooth, solid and reassuring. Long journeys are effortless.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Not bad for such a heavy car. The engines are good by today's standards, so back in '92 this must have been superb.

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Done 140k and is well maintained, but in the last year I have had a new radiator and alternator. Gearbox smooth and no problems at all, but I have it serviced regularly by a gearbox specialist.

All about personal taste, but I love 'em.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very comfy and plenty of rear legroom, even with front seats back. My old Omega was more comfortable in the back, though.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Standard kit not brilliant - I have fitted a Cat1 alarm and immobiliser, which was worth it from an insurance point of view.

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

Main dealers have never once impressed me. I use an independant BMW specialist who is excellent.
