What does this car say about you?

People think I have plenty of money. Actually it's very economical because depreciation is the biggest cost and I bought it when about 7 years old.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think it's lovely

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes but I would buy the facelift model with revised headlights & better engine.

Facelift model of same. Ie 525d SE or Sport 2001+

Did you get a good deal and why?

Price was fair. Mileage at purchase was about 110,000 miles. But that's fine because these cars last for ages if looked after.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Economy, performance, comfort, reliability and value.

What was the dealer like?

Bit of a spiv. Selling from home. Between when I paid for it, and when I collected it, the magazine for the 6 CD player had been removed. Apart from that was reasonably genuine.

What's it like to drive?

Great. Especially on long journies. Very comfortable. Fuel economy is good. I average 36mpg. Dipped headlights are totally useless. A cigarette lighter would provide more illumination! Good seats. Good climate control.

What's it like to park?

Fine. A bit on the big side.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Water pump failed. Light bulbs go too often.

What's most practical about your car?

Heavy duty build and plenty of room inside. Big boot.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

6 CD changer & sound system are absolutely fantastic! Better than the stereo in most peoples' living rooms.
