Value
Strong residuals. Automatics hold value better. Leather adds to used prices, as does split folding rear seats.
Costs
For such a big car, economy is excellent!

On the road
Driving
The best driver's exec car in its class (until the new one arrives, of course).
Performance
193bhp!! 205lbs of torque (manual) - what more can I say! She shifts!

Living with it
Reliability
Hasn't let me down once. Had climate control panel replaced for £15 at main dealer as buttons had cracked.
Image
Really questioning the new 5 styling (some may prefer the E39 styling!) Headlamp upgrade from '00 onwards adds to an already fantastic looking car.
Comfort
Great driving position - adjustable in any and every way. Rear a little cramped with 3 in back, nothing major though.

Security and Service
Security
Deadlocks, alarm, coded key immobiliser and locking wheel nuts. Everything you need but a tracker.
