Economy
Value
Good specification, even without extras, but leather a must.
Costs
Fuel economy disappointing on the auto diesel unless cruising. Expect no more than 30mpg in normal use, but over 40mpg easy on long runs. Tyre wear is quite heavy, expect 20k miles.

On the road
Driving
Superb handling. Composed and taught chassis with very effective traction control. Rear wheel drive is wonderful and the steering is just so precise!
Performance
Very quick and refined. Noticeable lag from the turbo when linked up to auto transmission though. 3.0 Petrol version definitely feels quicker from standing start.

Living with it
Reliability
No faults after 16 months and 20k miles.

Everybody wants one don't they?
Comfort
A little too firm on some less forgiving roads but very quiet.

Security and Service
Security
Difficult to say, but no one's attempted to steal it, break in to it or pinch the wheels, which concerned me to start with.
Service
Excellent dealer with work followed up by BMW GB.
