Summary
What does this car say about you?
Large car and now small bank balance!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Like it lots. Always volunteer to park or move it for me - pitty they don't offer to wash it for me!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Don't know here. The new model is probably better but some of the interior styling is not to my liking.
What are you likely to buy next?
Large 4 door saloon make not known at this time.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
April 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes. Selection of end of run Cars with Buisness features. Low milage and with new model out they wanted to sell. As the last of this model style there was extra kit and better engine and lower price!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
This is my second. Needed automatic this time around.
What was the dealer like?
As ever BMW very polite and professional. Not much in the way of freebies though. But I traded in a BMW so they were interested.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Large family/exec car with sports undertones. Yes it goes very, well firm but in my opinion not bone crunching suspension. Speed limit in UK is 70mph and you can probably get away with a recorded 80mph - this car does this with ease coupled with 0-60 in sub 8s - what more can you reasonably want? It is 177bhp which is very good for a 2.0ltr.
What's it like to park?
Parking sensors are a must and it is big and bulky. Also a problem in that British parking spaces are designed for a Ford Focus! As a saloon there is plenty of metal beyond the front and rear screens and you need to be careful of high kerbs or you ground the body kit!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No. Tyres lasted for 35k then all 4 replaced. Yes expensive but shop around. BMW dealer could not match any independant. Wear on rear tyres was due to over inflation - but I followed the BMW manual to the letter! Servicing is outrageous at a BMW dealer this is because they can get away with it. - but they always wash the car! Quality specialist independant using BMW parts are much better and more realistic with prices - also keeps warranty up.
What's most practical about your car?
Auto gear box is spot on for this type of car and my type of driving. No flappy paddles and a 6 speeder which does what it says on the packet.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Has to be the cruise control. BMW give the ability to increase speed by single mph or by 5 mph which is great to drive with. Sat nav is low end and not as good as £150 Tom Tom - but it came with the car!
