A lot of things that aren't true.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My wife and I both love it because we get to drive it. But our friends don't get it - they just seem to notice how often it is in the garage.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Can't decide. I love driving the car but it doesn't have the reliability of my last few cars (2 Nissans and a Honda).

What are you likely to buy next?

Either another 5 series (newer shape) or a Honda Accord. My heart wants one, my head wants the other.

Did you get a good deal and why?

I paid the going rate at the time, but it's a lot of car for just £3000.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted a large comfortable motorway cruiser that wasn't a barge.

What's it like to drive?

Absolutely fantastic. I love it. Handles beautifully. Pulls like a train when you put your foot down. Supremely quiet and smooth on the motorway. 5th gear is really just for cruising though as it does need to change down for hills and when accelerating back up to speed at the end of the roadworks.

What's it like to park?

Fine.

Have you had any problems with the car?

I've had a constant stream of niggling problems over 2 years: battery; ignition switch; tailgate wiring harness; rear wiper motor; wheel speed sensor; ABS control module; condensation in both headlamp lenses. Nothing too major and I suppose its age doesn't help but I am a bit disappointed really.

What's most practical about your car?

Even though it doesn't have many optional extras it is still very well equipped: cruise control, climate control, loads of airbags, etc.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Auto dimming rear view mirror or maybe the torch in the glovebox.
