BMW 7-Series (1987 - 1995) 735i L 4d Auto (1992/J) Owner Review

Summary
What does this car say about you?
Classy, good tastes, individual. And thankfully, these cars are not as tacky as they once were so you won't be judged as being a pimp, drug dealer or even a mafia boss. Although the chrome wheels do give a slight impression maybe...
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Friends think it's nice and memorable, family enjoys a comfortable ride, and it also catches a lot of attention because they are not so common anymore, mine being a long wheelbase just adds to the rarity.
Would you buy this car again and why?
That depends, I just tend to try something new after the car I previously owned. Maybe I want something with even more individuality like a Lincoln or Cadillac.
What are you likely to buy next?
Maybe a huge SUV like a Navigator or Escalade assuming I'm able to afford the gas and whatnot.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£700
When did you buy the car?
February 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
A full-size German luxury car with acres of legroom and other the comfort of a five star hotel which once cost over fifty grand decades ago bought for mere peanuts, an excellent deal.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I've long craved for a BMW barge, and one that is very cheap and would (with the right and of course, moderate modifications) stand out from the crowd.
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Handling is supreme for such a long car making it a breeze to maneuver most of the time. It's not that fast, and as you probably know, not too great on the snow, but it feels so smooth and speed isn't everything for me.
What's it like to park?
Not easy, the car is over 5 meters in length so the main issue is finding a parking spot. Though I don't have a huge issue with parking a little far from my destination.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing major at all. In fact, the big straight six is said to be one of the most reliable BMW engines. Only main thing you might want to be concerned about is the electric's, but even they won't cost you a king's ransom to fix for a car of this age.
What's most practical about your car?
It can seat five adults flawlessly, I mean have you seen the amount of legroom this has? I also have picnic tables installed for the extra luxury feel. The trunk is also a good size, making it a nice and classy Summer vacation vehicle, just keep an eye out for the fuel economy however.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Leather seats, rear air-conditioning, sun-shades, etc.
