What does this car say about you?

good taste, its not so "showy" as some others, however i do have a "less is more" outlook on life and its very pleasing to the eye rather than "new" everyone remembers it. Mines silver and i dont like cars other than black but i do like this car, i would deff buy another one (in the colour) as i like the shape.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Its the "large" BMW in the area so even the M5 drivers let me pull out, ive had a number of people comment on the bonnet size then see the "V12" badge with the "is that really a V12" normally results in absolute shock when they see the engine with "i didnt think they made engines that large".

Would you buy this car again and why?

yes, i like the 96-02 shape, i will be looking at a newer 08 750Li next week, we will see.....

What are you likely to buy next?

Not Lexus LS600.... I would deff buy another 95-02 750iL Might look at a 760Li if i like its shape. Would look at the Benz S500 if i could afford one (i like the toys). OR Cadillac Esculade ESV (HUGE 4x4 as i am moving to Canada so its a BMW or the Esculade).

Did you get a good deal and why?

Wasnt a bad deal, no marks on the car, any problems (minor scratch and a trim wasnt the wrong one (shortwheel base trim installed should have been a long one) where resolved, but then i did pay the asking price).

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Always wanted a 7series, i did look at the 8 series however not enough toys (and the Sulphur engine issues were still on the 8 series engines).

What was the dealer like?

Wasnt to bad but there was 2 of them and they lost the V5 document meaning i needed a new one to check the chassis out which then turned up by his "partner" in trade which wasnt around until i then paid and collected the car, bad comms bassicly.

What's it like to drive?

Very nice, very smooth, i have to say i drove a 2007 Lexus LS600 which was no where near as nice to drive as this car (9 years older than the Lexus), its silent, the later V12 (1998+) is the same engine as Rolls-Royce used in there car from BMW, its one of the smoothest engines i have ever seen and think i would still choose the V12 over the V8 even though the V8 is much better on fuel... I really enjoy driving the car, nice, no distance is to far for this car.

What's it like to park?

Suprisingly easy for its size, i got on way better parking this with sensors than the Lexus LS600 with its rear view camera, it has flat sides, very good mirrors, can trust what you see, i personally get on very well and parallel park very easy in it.

Have you had any problems with the car?

well, the DSC seems to be playing up, BMW say they cant "talk" to it, it does come on sometimes, the only fix (according to Sytner) is to replace it (£1000) and it "MIGHT" fix it, not to sure there is really a problem to be honest.... The headlights played up (HID) however the left one would go out "check main beam" on dash but the oil filter was leaking, fixed this the headlight then was fine (its on the same side of the car), same problem right side "check main beam" it also would go out (once a month) the water bottle was leaking, also fixed = head light working. Sytner says this is coincidence!!! i think not, i think harness water / oil ingress when you fixed problems on those sides of the car in the engine bays....

What's most practical about your car?

The size, i like the rear seat leg room, and boot capicity AND its reliable, starts every time (when the battery is charged, it will go flat in 14 days if not used).

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The TV system (NAV, DSP, PHONE, TV, Onboard computer) all use this system, and the parking sensors are GOOD very accurate (front, rear and front / rear sides)
