BMW i3 (2013 - 2022) 120Ah Atelier Interior World auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
The i3 is a great car. Its got plenty of room in the cabin and a flat floor. No transmission tunnel mean lots of room in the front and back, but only there's only 4 seats. The boot however is a draw back. It's comparable to a super mini but on the plus side is flat loading. There is a small front boot or froot for charging cables and puncture repair kit. The range is fine for me and it rapid charges quickly. In winter I get 140 in spring summer 170. It rapid charges quickly at about 30 minutes 10-80 percent. Compared to the latest EV it only supports 50kw where some might do 150kw or more. But you do need to consider the charge curve. I3 charges at high speed throughout the charge where as some might start fast and then start to cut the rate.
Current infrastructure is mainly 50kw anyway. The car is also interesting in the way its designed and built. Carbon fibre passenger compartment, skinny wheels. Lots of recycled parts and made in a 100 percent renewable factory, if you care. The rear doors also fold backwards which looks cool and can be a benefit but sometimes a hindrance. The rear windows are low giving children and passenger a good view out. You're seated high up like a cross over. The electric motor is quite powerful at around 170hp. It feels quick due to its light weight build, instant torque and lack of transmission. The one pedal driving using the throttle only is a game changer for driving comfort. Being electric the heater and air con work straight away and can also be done remotely with the app. In the winter this is also a game changer.
Gripes with the car are mainly its range (if you want to go really far like 500 miles etc) the few charge stops might get tedious. It hasn't got Android auto which is ridiculous. The infotainment with idrive is pretty good though and it supports apple car play. The stock speakers are a bit lacking and there's only two in the front. The boot is small for a family road trip. Overall though I really rate it as a good car to drive. Far nicer than petrol/desiel to drive. My wife never wants to use her car anymore. I would say there is stiff competition now with lots of car manufacturers including bmw coming out with potentially more practical options. If I was buying this year I'd likely be tempted by vw id4 with a much bigger battery and range.
