BMW i3 (2013 - 2022) Range Extender - Suite Interior World 5d Auto Owner Review

In their own words
Excellent build quality and very nippy in and out of town. It’ll outpace an M3 from 0 to 30mph. On British roads, the firm suspension can feel a bit busy and sometimes harsh (perhaps suspension dampeners are failing, after 40,000 miles they probably need replacing). Range extender is a must and will nearly double your achievable range. Using just the battery we achieve up to 80 miles, the Rex nearly doubles that. Our version came with the accessory CCS rapid charging option. This is an absolute necessity if you do plenty miles during multiple trips in a day. The rear suicide doors on cold days can be a bit annoying as you have to open both front and rear doors to let passengers in the back out thereby letting lots of cold air in. Dealership experience has been outstanding if expensive; loan cars were always made available during services and repairs. As mentioned above, outside manufacturer warranty (i.e. after 3 years), the electricals start to go; failing HT cables, control units etc. all very costly to diagnose and replace. How reliable do you find the car?
Up until the 3 year warranty expired, we’d had very few problems with the car. But now we’ve had two HT cables go and need replacing. With the associated diagnostics, this cost a total of £1800. After a lot of discussions with the dealer arguing that a premium car such as this shouldn’t be developing such expensive faults 8 months past it’s warranty period, they agreed to split the costs and we eventually paid £585. Moral of story, never own this car outside of warranty... if you do, purchase an extended warranty as she’s very expensive to repair.About their car
