BMW i8 Roadster (2018 - 2020) auto 2d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
The car doesn't really fit in any one category, and really doesn't excel in any one area. It looks like a hypercar, yet my Bentley, Tesla and Nissan GTR are all quicker (and cheaper) alternatives. The car has a great chassis, but feels underpowered (even with the added sound effects). The interior finish isn't particularly luxurious for what you pay, and the dash display is tacky. Hybrid efficiency isn't anywhere near as good as quoted, even with the lightest driving. EV driving range is only about 10 miles at most. The novelty of the doors quickly wears off. The final nail in the coffin has been the battery failures and the complete lack of response from BMW when raising complaints.
I really wouldn't have another BMW, even if I was paid.
How reliable do you find the car?
The car has regularly been off the road due to battery issues. Both BMW UK and Coopers BMW Teesside have done little to address the problem. I now just want rid of the car, ownership has been a nightmare.About their car
