BMW X1 (2009 - 2015) xDrive 18d xLine 5d Owner Review

Typically German build quality despite a couple of annoying squeaks, very capable - accelerates well on the motorway and grippy when driving in challenging conditions in Scotland. Fuel efficiency is ok - managing 48mpg but having to drive carefully to achieve that. Plenty of room in the back and large boot. Passengers on short trips are impressed with comfort, however, on longer trips they notice the harsh ride - this is fine unless they suffer motion sickness! The car is easy to park with excellent sensors. Not a fan of the gearbox - doesn't seem to like 6th to 5th, or 4th to 3rd which can be hard work when overtaking. Bought from local main dealer - service has been excellent and the buying process was easy.
