What does this car say about you?

    Practical family man.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Everyone loves it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I wouldn't buy another X3. An equivalent 5 Series is cheaper and has more luggage space and a more comfortable clutch position.

What are you likely to buy next?

    5 Series or X5.

    £36,000

When did you buy the car?

    December 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

The deal is a leasing arrangement through Alphabet and is a good deal for BMWs compared to other manufacturers.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I wanted a larger car to carry around all the new family paraphernalia following the birth of our first child.

    What was the dealer like?

I didn't visit the dealer. All contact was via the phone and email. I had a weekend test drive. There was no follow up even to ask if I liked the car.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

It's a comfortable cruiser. Enjoyable on country lanes, too. The clutch position is high, which can make it a little uncomfortable in traffic. I should have chosen one with the auto gearbox!

    What's it like to park?

No problems parking with the front and rear sensors. My test drive car also had a rear parking camera which was great, however I judged it to be an unnecessary extra as the standard front and rear sensors are fine.

Have you had any problems with the car?

A number of warning lights keep coming on. It has been back to a dealer several times and no cause has yet been identified.

What's most practical about your car?

The front and rear parking sensors.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    The built-in sat nav.
