BMW X5 4x4 xDrive30d M Sport Sport Automatic 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Since my local dealer was bought out by a large US group the sales service and repair service has rapidly gone downhill. Getting to speak to anyone is a challenge. The car's electronics are erratic and the handbook unfathomable. Every time we get in the car it's like a new experience as it resets things, loses saved destinations, loses phone connections etc. Although it was an ex BMW staff car with virtually all of the extras on it it doesn't have a heated steering wheel. This, apparently, only comes as a package with heated armrests! I have had to resort to the internet to find other things out. Even the brochure, only provided electronically, doesn't explain what features are included. No-one at the dealership knew, so I had to speak to BMW UK to find the answers. On the road it performs really well, so long as I can get it out and on the road. It appears to have so much electronics working in the background that regular battery recharging is required. I wish that I had kept my old X5 or checked out the competition and looked for a more helpful and friendly dealership.
How reliable do you find the car?
If the local dealer was more helpful I would get the niggles dealt with but I will wait for a service to get them fixed. Collection and return for a service is now nigh on impossible. A US motivated cutback I suspect.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Compared with my previous X5 there is too much technology and not much help from the dealer.About their car
