Economy
Value
For the older reg models, you get a whole lot of car of the money. Still a big outlay for (I paid £8.5K for an 8 year old car) but they should hold their values well.
Costs
I see 25 mpg as an average, less if I get playful. That's Porsche 911 type consumption. Insurance will be heavy unless you're getting on in years and BMW parts and service costs are more than average. Make sure you've got deep pockets.

Driving
Compared to executive saloons, it's actually a difficult car to drive. Heavy steering, cramped, poor hood up visibility - but get the engine on the cam, get the roof down and the car is transformed into a fluid fun machine. Excellent!
Performance
Stunning. You probably don't want to go faster than this in this type of car. Wheels and tyres could be bigger to give more grip for all of that power, but you can't complain about performance like this.

Living with it
Reliability
It's a BMW. Look after it an there will be no problems.
Image
From the side, this car has got the best front end ever. Exquisite. Turns heads everywhere you go. Coveted by women of all ages.
Comfort
It's quite uncomfortable. I wouldn't use this as my main car. The seats are to short and hard, there's not enough space for your feet or elbows, it's very noisy and there's a whole lot of shaking going on.

Security and Service
Security
It's got an alarm, but it's an open top. Make sure you park it somewhere sensible - especially overnight.
Service
1st Class.
