Economy
Value
A lot of car for the money. Let someone else swallow the depreciation and grab yourself a bargain. Has to be 2.8 / 3.0 engine.
Costs
28 mpg overall even with frequent 'spirited' driving. Service at BMW (4 plus scheme) reasonable. Service lights last for 15000 miles at a go so overall, cheaper than serving my wife's Focus!

On the road
Driving
Drivers position is great. Seats good, steering wheel too large. Steering is pinpoint sharp but body flex on anything other than A road bends can be alarming at speed.
Performance
Faultless engine and gearbox combination. Strong acceleration throughout the entire rev range. The rev limiter occasionally reminds you how good this combination is. Roadholding secure at all, but outrageous speeds.

Living with it
Reliability
Bought at four years old. Warranty print shows car has had minor faults, but has been faultless whilst I have owned it.
Image
I love it which is why I bought one. Black with chrome options and dark red leather. Best of the convertables for the money. Z4 currently too expensive.
Comfort
This is a 2 seater convertible. Seats firm but comfortable even on long journeys. Everthing is where it should be. Little wind balst with optional deflector. Average with hood up. Hard top is a worthwhile investment. (£800 ish on Ebay)

Security and Service
Security
Deadlocks and Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser as standard. Always going to have that fabric roof though.
Service
No problems. Courteous and reliable.
