Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm cool. It looks like a £30k sports car. People are always surprised when I tell them I only paid £9k for it. My nephew thinks I'm James Bond!!!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
My friends are jealous. My family think it's a mid-life crisis and my girlfriend loves it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I do love the car but I probably wouldn't buy it again. The build quality isn't what I expected from a BMW and the fuel economy hurts my wallet.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something more economical but still quite fast. I like the Audi A3 2.0 S Line.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£9,000
When did you buy the car?
August 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
Bought privately. At £9k I paid less than what every dealer and most private sellers were currently asking for similar models with the same mileage.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted something fast and fun but also more grown-up than a hatchback.
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fantastic when driven hard and fast. It corners superbly, acceleration is excellent and the noise it makes is wonderful. On the motorway it's smooth and refined. Driving slow through town is totally different. The suspension and run flat tyre combination makes it feel rock solid. You can feel every tiny pot hole. Everything rattles which I didn't expect for a BMW.
What's it like to park?
Strange to start with as the nose is so long. Almost kerbed the bumper a few times. The doors are wider than average so getting out of the car in tight spaces isn't easy.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing major. Pulled the seatbelt sensor out whilst cleaning down the side of the seats. Drivers side cup holder is faulty. Bumper to wing clip broke. Cost £30 to replace bumper clip, don't use cup holder anyway, and seatbelt sensor just needed plugging back in.
What's most practical about your car?
Quite a big boot for a coupé. My Labrador fits in comfortably. Quite spacious too. I'm 6'4" and don't feel cramped at all.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Bluetooth Parrot Kit. Excellent for playing music from my phone. Sport button makes it sound better and increases throttle response. Auto dimming rear view mirror is genius and should be on all cars.
