Summary
What does this car say about you?
Not sure but hopefully someone who appreciates something a little different & sportier than most of the other mundane cars that are on the road.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They love it but my dad (aged 73) cant' get in or out without a 'struggle'. But he thinks it looks great.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. Eventhough I have had a lot of trouble with it in my first 10 months of ownership I still love the car & do not see myself ever selling it because I think it will become fairly collectable in the future. It also puts a silly grin on my face whenever I drive it, especially now that I have a sports exhaust fitted so it now sounds as good as it looks. If I bought a BMW I would definately buy from Halliwell Jones as they have been nothing short of superb when dealing with me my Z4 eventhough I did not buy it from them.
What are you likely to buy next?
To be honest I have a 4x4 that I use a fair bit & am more likely to change this in the futre than the Z4.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£13,500
When did you buy the car?
May 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got what I expected for my Audi but the dealer would not move on the price of the Z4. Opted for the paint protection & to be honest felt a little ripped off when I picked the car up.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Loved the style of it & pretty rare. Something a bit different & with good performance.
What was the dealer like?
The dealer that I bought it from was ok but the interior of the car had not been cleaned to what I felt was a high enough standard & the engine had not been cleaned at all. However, the local dealer that the car has been into with some faults has been absolutely fantastic (Halliwell Jones in Warrington).

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Superb. Excellent handling on smooth roads & pretty quick too. However, does suffer on poorly surfaced roads as suspension is very stiff. I have gone up a profile on the rear tyres which seems to have helped a bit.
What's it like to park?
No problem because parking sensors fitted at the rear. However, I have scuffed the underside of the front spolier on kerbs in car parks due to not being able to see the end of the bonnet because of the slope of it, but no issues really. Good visabillity.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Numerous things. The drivers side drive shaft, the rocker box gasket, a very expensive computer & a couple of other smaller things. In total about £10k of work inc. labour costs. However, all was done under the BMW 12 month warranty without question. Again Halliwell Jones in Warrington were superb.
What's most practical about your car?
Good boot for the type of car & the hill ascent start.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I love the Sport button for obvious reasons & the M sport steering wheel has the audio controls etc on it along with the gear change paddles.
