Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£18,850
When did you buy the car?
August 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Not really. I paid the asking price due to being over excited abut finding the right car!......I had missed other cars by a matter of hours after being listed but could of got a bit of money off.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I previously enjoyed owning a 3.0 Z4 Roadster and had always wanted an M car, so the combination of the two was irresistible. It's also a quite a rare car which really appealed to me.
What was the dealer like?
Not so good after I bought the car. They were not my local dealer (Sytner - 200 miles away) and it took a bit of effort to get them to pay for some minor defects that were there at the time of sale. If bought directly from BMW AUC again I would try and get my local dealer (who is as good as gold - Chandlers Brighton) to source the car or get a transfer between dealers.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's an awesome car. The noise the engine makes when you wind it up is great and it pulls like mad in every gear. The handling is well beyond the level that I personally would push to on public roads. It makes you concentrate when you put your foot down and really is the beast that you read about in the reviews. I don't find the clutch or the gears to heavy at all, but in traffic it can be a slog as im a daily driver - but it still worth it though for the rest of the experience.
What's it like to park?
No problem. Parking senors are a nice option to have. I just worry about everyone else's parking and hide it away in whenever I can!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Electric seat base - not working at the time of sale that was eventually replaced by my local dealer but paid for by the dealer I bought from (through gritted teeth - not cheap!). New fuel pump, seat belt, bluetooth phone module - all on the BMW AUC - which was the reason I paid a premium at BMW was to get an AUC warranty. Get one.
What's most practical about your car?
Not much, you don't buy this car for practicality. You can take a passenger and the boot is just about big enough for a set of golf clubs, the weekly shop or a weekend away bag. Thats good for the sort of car it is.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Heated seats, Sat Nav, PDC and Bluetooth are good to have and will make it easier to sell. I would of liked cruise control but it wasn't a deal breaker.
