In their own words
The most uncomfortable car I have ever driven an uncomfortable go-cart. Going back to my Mercedes slk230, My battery died on a 250 mile journey whilst i was driving nearly crashed as the steering relies on a charge in the battery the altinater would not feed enough power to supply the steering motor. I have had to have the roof motor replaced had to drive from Cornwall to Liverpool as the cost in Cornwall needed a bank loan £890, Liverpool a full repair and relocating the motor to avoid getting swomped again £195 but for me a 700 mile drive up and back but still cheaper than a local fix the total time for a fix was just under 2 hours without taking the roof off. for UK z4 owners look on ebay for the Zshed Liverpool he has done 100s without taking the roof off and relocating the motor for a permanent dry fix into the dry boot area. I am now paying for a complete front brake over haul Calipers, pads and flexi pipes as they keep locking up very dangerest they lock up as i am driving without touching the brake pedal could be NSF first and then OSF next with no warning which can throw me into the hedge or to the middle of the road. This Z4 has a full service history and a clean MOT pass every time proving that means nothing so buyer beware. I am today going to look at a 2005 slk230 but not fooling myself i have had 3 previously and they have there faults manual and auto boxes plus rust but fortunatly 4 window that open when you do not whant the roof down and much more comfortable than my z4 go-cart. Sorry guys I will never buy another BMW of any mark again much to expencive to repair £164 for the Bowden cable {no more than a bike brake cable} in the boot area to disconect the hydrolics to lower the roof by hand {Red finger pull}.
